Neer Dosa

This is the simplest of all dosas. Neer dosa means water dosa. It is more famous in Karnataka. The reason why it is the simplest is because it can be easily made with rice and requires no fermentation.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                                                   - South Indian
Serves                                                                   - 3 people.
Ingredients
1.     Raw rice                                                            - 2 cups
2.     Boiled rice(cooked)                                            - 3 tsp
3.     Salt                                                                   - to taste
4.     Water                                                                - as required.

Method: Soak the raw rice for 4-5 hrs. Even overnight soaking is fine.
Grind it in a mixie along with the cooked boiled rice, salt and water.
Add enough water to make it a loose consistency.
Heat a pan. Add a tsp of oil or ghee and wipe off with a tissue.
Pour a laddle of batter and rotate to form the shape of a pancake.
This will not turn brown as no dal or fenugreek is added.
Cover with a lid and cook well. Take out and enjoy with a chutney of your choice.
Notes
This dosa tastes good only when it is hot.
Some people do add coconut to make it softer. I have added cooked rice to make it softer.
Grinding raw rice alone can make the dosa very dry.
You can crush the fried sundried chillies on top of the dosa while making. That would give a different taste.
