Microwave Eggless Sponge Cake




Baking a cake is time consuming. How about a microwave cake which can be prepared in 7mts that too an eggless one. Let us substitute egg with curd.


Ingredients:
Maida                                                             - 1.5 cups
Curd                                                               - 1 cup
Powdered Sugar                                             - ¾ cup
Baking Powder                                                - 1 tsp
Vanilla essence                                               - 1 tsp
Butter                                                             - 75 gms.
Method: Sieve maida. To this add powdered sugar and baking powder and mix well. Add melted butter and beat well.
Add curd and vanilla essence and beat till the mixture is soft.
Grease a microwave safe bowl with butter and transfer the contents to it.
Microwave on high for 7 minutes. ( Power settings for each microwave is different. So, please check if the cake is cooked after 5mts with a toothpick. If not cooked, allow additional 1 or 2 mts).
Take out the cake and allow it to cool for 5mts. Cut and serve.
Notes: You can use oil instead of butter.
Curd should not be sour.
