Aloo Capsicum




Aloo Capsicum
                      
Aloo Capsicum is a popular North Indian side dish which is served with roti or rice. It can be prepared with gravy or as a dry dish. This recipe shows a dry dish preparation.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                             - North Indian
Serves                                             - 3 people.

Ingredients:
1.   Aloo                            - 3 large
2.   Capsicum                            - 4 nos
3.   Onion                          - 1 large
4.   Tomato                       - 1 large
5.   Ginger-garlic paste   - 1 tsp
6.   Oil                               - 3 tsp
7.   Turmeric powder       - ½ tsp
8.   Red chilli powder       - 1 tsp
9.   Coriander powder     - 1.5 tsp
10.           Salt                      - to taste.

Method:  Cut aloo, capsicum, tomato and onion into cubes.

Heat oil in a pan and add ginger-garlic paste. Add onion and tomato and fry till golden brown.

Add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder and mix well.

Add aloo and salt and stir. Close the lid of the pan and let it cook till the aloo is tender. Stir in between.

When aloo becomes tender, add capsicum. Close the lid and cook for 8-10 mts. Stirring in between is not to be forgotten as no water has been added.

Aloo capsicum is ready to be served.

Note:  Cumin seeds can be spluttered in the beginning

Garam masala can be added if so desired.
