Shahi Paneer



Shahi Paneer

Shahi paneer is a very popular North Indian dish which is served with rice or roti. Shahi means rich and so it is definitely a tasty dish also. It is easy to make and fast moving in restaurants.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                                     - North Indian
Serves                                                      - 2 people.

Ingredients:
1.   Paneer                                 - 150 gms
2.   Onion                                   - 1 large
3.   Tomato                                - 1 large
4.   Cashew nuts                       - 5-6 nos
5.   Turmeric powder                 - ½ tsp
6.   Red chilli powder                - 1 tsp
7.   Coriander powder               - 1 tsp
8.   Salt                                       - to taste
9.   Kasoori methi                      - 1 tsp
10.           Fresh cream                 - 1 tbsp
11.           Butter                            - 1 tsp
12.           Oil                                  - 2 tsp

Method: Cut paneer, onion and tomato into cubes.

Heat oil in a pan.  Put onion, tomato and cashew nuts and  stir fry for 2 mts. Add turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder and stir for a minute.

 Switch off the gas. Let it cool. Grind this to a paste.

Transfer the paste to the pan. Add sufficient water and cook well.

Add paneer pieces, kasoori methi and butter. Let everything cook together.

Finally add cream and serve hot.
