Aloo Gobhi




Aloo Gobhi

Aloo Gobhi as the name suggests is a dry dish prepared with potatoes and cauli flower.  Aloo Gobhi can be had with rice or rotis.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                             - North Indian
Serves                                              - 3 people.

Ingredients:
1.   Aloo(potato)                       - 4 nos
2.   Cauli flower                        - 1 large
3.   Ginger-garlic paste            -  ½ tsp
4.   Oil                                        - 2 tsp
5.   Cumin seeds                      - 1 tsp
6.   Onion                                  - 1 large
7.   Tomato                               - 1 large
8.   Turmeric powder                - ½ tsp
9.   Red chilli powder               - ½ tsp
10.       Coriander powder          - 1 tsp
11.       Veg masala                    - 1 tsp
12.       Fennel Powder              - 1 tsp
13.       Salt                                 - to taste
14.       Coriander leaves           - 1 small bunch. 

Method: Heat a pressure cooker, add oil and splutter cumin seeds.

Add onion, tomato and ginger-garlic paste and fry till golden brown.

Add veg masala and all the powders and stir well

Add potato(cut into cubes) and cauli flower(florets) . Mix everything together.

 Add salt and 2 tbsp water.

Close the lid of the cooker  and wait for the steam. The gas should be turned off before the first whistle.

Add coriander leaves and stir. Aloo Gobhi is ready to be served.


Note: The same recipe can be made in a pan.
