Tomato Onion Uthapam




Tomato –Onion Uthapam.
                
Uthapam is a very famous south Indian breakfast item. It is a much demanded item in restaurants. If you are bored of making normal dosa, you can very well try this uthapam.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                             - South Indian
Serves                                             - 1 person.

Ingredients:
1.   Dosa batter                - 1 cup
2.   Tomato                       - 1 large
3.   Onion                          - 1 medium
4.   Green chillies             - 2 nos
5.   Curry leaves              -4 nos
6.   Coriander leaves       - 2 tbsp
7.   Salt                             - to taste
8.   Oil                               - for making uthapams

Method: Heat a pan and drop a ladle of batter. Spread slightly. Keep in low flame. Wait for bubbles to appear on the surface.  Drizzle a spoon of oil.

Mix tomato, onion, green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves with little salt and sprinkle over the uthapam. Cover with a lid for 2 mts.

Flip to the other side carefully and cover again for 2 mts. Check if both sides are cooked as it is thicker than the normal dosa.

Serve hot with sambhar or chutney.
