Carrot Halwa
Halwas are famous across
India. Gajar ka halwa is no exception. In North India it is prepared in winters
when the carrots are available in plenty in the markets.
Basic info about the recipe

6-8 people
Ingredients:
1. Carrots - 1.5 kg
2. Milkmaid - 1 tin
3. Ghee - 2 tbsp
4. Dry
fruits(assorted) - ½-1 cup
Method: Grate the carrots.
Transfer to a non-stick pan. Keep in low flame.
Let it cook in its own juice for 2-3 mts.
Add condensed milk and cook well. Add ghee in
between to prevent the carrot halwa from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Cook till the liquid evaporates and the halwa
is dry.
Add cashew nuts, almonds and raisins and mix
well.
Serve hot or cold.
Note: Dry fruits can be fried in ghee if so desired.
Milkmaid already contains sugar. For more
sweetness, additional sugar can be added.
