Curd Rice




Curd Rice

Curd Rice is a very popular  rice item of South India. It is called “Thayru Saadam”. It is a convenient  food while on travel. It is a complete meal with very little ingredients.

Basic info about the recipe:

Cuisine     - South Indian     
Serves      - 1 person.

Ingredients;
1.   Boiled Raw Rice                   - 2 cups
2.   Curd                                      - 2 cups
3.   Salt                                        - to taste
4.   Oil                                          - 2 tsp
5.   Mustard seeds                      - 1 tsp
6.   Ginger                                    - 1 inch piece cut into cubes
7.   Green chillies                        - 2 nos
8.   Curry leaves                          - 5-6 nos
9.   Dry red chillies                      - 1-2 nos

Method: Mix cooked raw rice, curd and salt together.

Keep a pan and add oil. Add mustard seeds to the oil. Let it splutter. To this add, ginger, green chillies , curry leaves and dry red chillies. Fry for a minute stirring continuously. Pour to the top of the rice. Mix well and serve with pickles and chips.
