Basic ingredients for various recipes

 Garam Masala

Ingredients required:
  • 20 gms peppercorn
  • 10 gms clove
  • 20 gms cinnamon
  • 15 gms black cardamom
  • 10 gms cumin seeds
Preparation: Lightly dry roast all the ingredients and grind to a powder.

Ginger-Garlic paste

Ingredients required:
  • 100 gms Garlic
  • 70 gms Ginger 
Preparation: Peel and chop Garlic as well as Ginger and blend in a mixer. Refrigerate in a airtight container.

Tomato puree

Put tomatoes in boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Remove the tomatoes and put them in cold water for some time. Peel and discard the tomato skin. Chop them and grind it to a puree in a mixer.

Coconut milk

Grind  required quantity of grated coconut in a mixer for 3 minutes using water(1 glass of water for I coconut). Squeeze out as  much milk as possible. The milk extracted the first time is a thick milk. It the recipe requires thin milk, grind it again adding additional water.
