Matar Mushroom Curry




Matar Mushroom Curry
As the name suggests it is made with green peas and mushroom. It is a very tasty dish which is had with either rotis or rice.

Basic info about the recipe
Cuisine                                             - North Indian
Serves                                             - 3 people
Ingredients:
1.   Green peas                       - 1 cup
2.   Mushroom                         - 200 gms
3.   Ginger-garlic paste           - ½ tsp
4.   Onion                                 - 1 large
5.   Tomato pureed                 - 1 large
6.   Cashew nuts                     - 5 nos
7.   Turmeric powder              - ½ tsp
8.   Kashmiri red chilli powder- ½ tsp
9.   Coriander powder            - 1 tsp
10.       Fennel powder             - ½ tsp
11.       Veg masala                  - 2 tsp
12.       Garam masala             - ½ tsp
13.       Kasoori methi               - 1tsp
14.       Oil                                  - 1 tbsp
15.       Coriander leaves           - 1 small bunch
16.       Fresh cream                 - 2 tsp.


Method: Cut mushrooms into cubes and keep aside.

Grind tomato and cashew nuts together.

In a pan, heat oil. Add ginger-garlic paste and onion and fry till golden brown. Add tomato-cashew paste and fry .
Add turmeric, red chilli, coriander, fennel powder, veg masala and stir for 2 mts. Add green peas and mushrooms and stir well.

Add salt, kasoori methi and water and close the lid. Let it cook for 15 mts.

Open the lid, add coriander leaves, garam masala and  stir well.

Add a spoon of fresh cream and serve hot.
